To start his career Lonzo Ball has had his good games, posting 2 triple doubles early into his rookie campaign. But he has also had bad stretches shooting from behind the arc and the free throw line.
In this era of instant gratification Ball is one minute a bust the next instant the next best thing since well you get the point.
Could Ball find his game by rebounding the ball? Sunday night when Ball post his second triple double he pulled down 16 boards. In the last 16 seasons only one other rookie has more rebound in a game of their rookie year. The overlooked act of rebounding could be the key. Grabbing a rebound and pushing the ball, finding open teammates for easy transition baskets or wide open layups.
Maybe just maybe the bounce of the ball could lead Zo toward the confidence booster the he has been missing. We’ll see how the season progresses. Who knows the bounce off the board might be what springboards a promising season for Lonzo and the Lakers.
